Artell Wary Of Sky Blues Threat

14 March 2018

David Artell is looking forward to meeting up with his former Rotherham United teammate Mark Robins this weekend as Coventry City try to sustain their promotion push. A 2-2 draw with Luton Town last night  has moved the sky Blues into the last play-off spot ahead of Lincoln City and they will be aiming to increase their unbeaten run to five matches at Gresty Road on Saturday.

Crewe will also be looking to continue their good form of late that has seen us collect four points from our last two away games.

Speaking ahead of our home clash with Coventry, Artell said: “I’ve known Mark for a long time and it will be good to catch up with him again at the weekend. He has built a good team at Coventry with a nice blend of experience.

“I’ve watched them a few times this season and Kenny went to watch them last night, so we know how good they can be. We have seen enough of them this season to know that they are one of the best sides in the division.

“They don’t concede many goals and have a settled back four and quality goalkeeper. They are well equipped in all areas and have a good chance of winning promotion at the end of the season.

“McNulty and Jonson Clarke-Harris are a real handful up front and then they have the older head like Doyle making things take over. They have quality but they also have a real resilience about them as well. They have quality right through and we will have to play well to beat them.

The boss added: “We are at home and have managed to pick up four points from our last two away games, so we know we are in some decent form as well.”
