Walker: "I Know There Is Hard Work To Be Done"

14 June 2018

Brad Walker says he wants to nail down a place in David Artell’s starting XI before he decides which position best suits him.

Walker lost his place in the second half of the season and early this week, admitted that he found it difficult to adjust to his move from Hartlepool United last summer. The 23-year-old has already played right-back, centre-back and as a central midfielder during his Crewe career and it is still uncertain to what his best position is.

Brad told the club’s official website: “I’ve played in different positions but that is something I have done at Hartlepool. I started out as a central midfielder and moved back to centre-half there. I have also played right back here.

“I do like playing in midfield but I need to get back in the team before I think about nailing down a particular position. I know there is work to be done and I have to improve my fitness level first and foremost.

“I am working hard and will do all I can to get back into the team.”
