David Artell has told the club’s official website that Kenny Lunt sets the perfect example of someone who has remained loyal to the Football Club.
The Crewe Alexandra boss says that a player turning 24 at the club does not necessary spell the end of their career at the club. Artell believes that players like Ben Garratt and George Ray can still develop and improve in our first-team.
David told the club’s official website: “Everyone is individual and if they don’t sign then they don’t sign. You cannot lose sleep over it if someone does not want to be here. I’ve not really had that since I took over.
“By going over the age of 24 does not necessary mean they have to leave. They can still develop here.
“Kenny (Lunt) is the perfect example of that. He stayed here and played a lot of games in the Championship.
“Of course, we will let anyone leave if the price is right because we have got to balance the books like any other club, but our players turning 24 does not necessary mean they have to leave.”
