Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official website that he remains confident that he will reach an agreement with Perry Ng about the defender committing his future to the club. Ng still has a year to run on his current deal and Artell stated last week that negotiations with the player and his representative will take a bit of time.
Artell wants Ng to follow a number of the club’s former Academy youngsters' by signing a contract extension as a reward for his form and progress made last season.
David told the club’s official website: “It will move on with Perry but like I have said these things do take a bit of time. It was the same with the other three lads at the end of the season. We had been talking to them and their agents for a while.
“Hopefully, like those ones, we will reach an agreement and Perry will go on to have another successful season.
“Perry is a good lad and his agent is a good guy. I like him and I get on with him.
“Perry knows that there is room for improvement in his game and that he isn’t ready to move as a full-back, never mind a centre-half. He is at the best place to be to make sure he will be ready in the future.”
