Club Consider Nantwich Time Switch If England Progress This Evening

3 July 2018

David Artell has told the club’s official website that he has already spoken to our near neighbours Nantwich Town about our first pre-season friendly on Saturday clashing with a potential World Cup quarter-final involving England. The two clubs are considering a time change.

If England can overcome Colombia this this evening then we could have a last 8 encounter against either Sweden or Switzerland at 3pm on Saturday.

The Crewe Alexandra boss has already spoken to Clive Jackson and manager David Cooke about moving the kick-off time to facilitate supporters.

He said: “We have spoken to Nantwich in regards to a potential clash and they have been very good about it. I’ve spoken to Clive and Dave and they understand that we are all England fans and we want to watch the national team as well.

“We will have to see how we do tonight and take it from there. I am sure we will all be delighted to look at it again because it means that England have beaten Colombian and can look forward to a quarter final.

“Now it is down to Gareth and the boys tonight. We wish them well.”
