Lowery: "Always A Tough Contest Against Wycombe"

18 January 2018

Tom Lowery wants to celebrate signing his new contract with the club with three points against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. The midfielder, 20, signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the club earlier in the week and Lowery now wants to make it a double celebration by helping us get back to winning ways against Gareth Ainsworth’s promotion chasing side.

The former Academy graduate told the club’s official website: “It is another big game for us this weekend. It is always a tough game against Wycombe and you have to stand up to their physical presence. They have some really good players and that is why they are where they are in the league.

“We are at home and we know that if we play our game then we can match anyone and get a result.

“They are a good side and it was tough to lose at their place like we did. I didn’t think we deserved that on the night but the game lasts 90 plus minutes and they managed to score two late goals.

“We did okay on Saturday but didn’t turn our possession into enough chances and then we couldn’t convert the number of chances we did create.

Tom added: “We can create more and we can score a few more as well. Unfortunately, it didn’t go our way at Carlisle, so we will be looking to put that right on Saturday. It is on to Saturday now and making sure that the performance is good over 90 minutes.”
