We Go To Luton Full Of Confidence

10 April 2018

David Artell admits that tackling Luton Town at their Kenilworth Road stadium will not be easy this weekend, but the Crewe Alexandra boss feels that his side can upset the odds again by halting the Hatters promotion hopes.

Luton are still chasing down the current league leaders Accrington Town and are virtually there when it comes to automatic promotion, but Artell says that his in-form side can certainly give Nathan Jones’ side a game this weekend.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Luton, the Crewe boss said: “We know Luton are a good team. They are one of the best in the division and they will want to win the league still.

“It is always a tough place to go. Kenliworth Road always generates a great atmosphere. They are a big club with a big budget for this division but if we can play as well as we have been doing then there is no reason why we cannot cause an upset.

“We went to Accrington and played them off the park. We won at Lincoln who had lost something like 3 games in 55 at home. We drew at Stevenage, who had not lost at home since October. We won at Newport, who have not lost many at home this season and then Mansfield on Saturday. It was their third home defeat of the season.

He added: “If they do their jobs, like they have been doing then we have a great chance. It will be tough but we have done well of late and will go there with some confidence.”
