Nolan: "Crewe Is The Right Place For Their Development"

26 April 2018

Crewe Alexandra defender Eddie Nolan is hoping that the club’s young players will re-sign their contracts with the club this summer. Nolan has been impressed with the quality of the young players at the Football Club and the former Eire international believes that Crewe is the best place for them to continue their development.

Nolan, who has played for the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and Scunthorpe United during his career appreciates that the final decision rests with the player, but he says that learning from his own experience in the game, it is important to make the right choice at the right time.

Nolan told the club’s official website: “There are some talented young players here and in my opinion they are in the right place to continue their development.

“It is not for me to say what they should or should not do but I would love them to stay because they are very good players and important to the team.

“It is their careers and their decision. I have been in their position before and a couple of times I’ve made the right move and other times it has backfired on me. It is important to get it right and move at the right time.

“They don’t say much about it and we don’t ask them either. They tend to keep themselves to themselves and that is the way it should be.

Eddie added: “As I’ve said I would love them to stay, it would be great and give us all a boost heading into next season.”
