Green Hoping To Stay At Crewe

17 April 2018

Paul Green has told the club’s official website that he is really enjoying his football at Crewe and that he hopes his future can be resolved as sooner as possible. Manager David Artell has spoken highly of the influence Paul Green has made on his relatively young team and he is determined to keep the Irishman with us this summer.

Green is out of contract with his parent club Oldham Athletic and Crewe have already thrown their hat in the ring and have announced that we would like to sign the former Doncaster and Leeds man on a permanent deal.

It is encouraging news from the Green camp too with the former Eire man hoping that something can be agreed with us.

Paul told the club’s official website: “I’ve really enjoyed my football here and my age is all about enjoying your football. I’ve spoken with the club and hopefully something can get sorted. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

“There are a great set of lads here and I really think we can do something really positive in this league next season. I can see no reason why not.

There is a nice blend of youth and experience now and having those experienced around helps with the winning mentality the gaffer is trying to build.

Paul added: “It is a great set-up here and everyone is really friendly. There is a great spirit around the place and it is a real family club. Please will often say the grass is greener or be prepared to go somewhere else for a bit more money, but that is not always the case.”
