Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager Kenny Lunt was delighted with the team’s performance against Chesterfield on Saturday. Crewe bounced back from a disappointing performance and result at Grimsby to inflict a 5-1 defeat on Chesterfield at Gresty Road.
Lunt was pleased with the response of the players: “It was a massive turnaround from the Grimsby game where we didn’t play to our strengths and didn’t play our football.
“We did that on Saturday and the difference was massive. The players responded really well, and we thoroughly deserved the three points. Now we have to take that performance in tomorrow night and try and get another three points.
“We scored some really good goals. There was a four pass move from one end of the pitch to the other for Chris Porter’s second goal and then ten passes for Cooper’s goal. That is the type of football we want to play.
“We will keep our feet on the ground. There are always different challenges in every game and it will be up to us to play our football, like we did against Chesterfield.”
