Boss Hoping To Have Jonah Back In Four Weeks

21 September 2017

Crewe Alexandra midfielder James Jones has been back outside working on his rehabilitation with head physio Rob Sharp.

Jones, who scored 11 goals last season, has not featured this campaign after undergoing a hernia operation in the summer and then suffering some discomfort in the pelvic area, but a recent injection has helped with the inflammation around the problematic area and he is feeling a lot more positive.

Alex boss David Artell is hopeful of having the Scotland Under-21 International back fully training with us within two weeks and then pushing for a recall within a month.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “James has been outside working with Rob (Sharp) which is a good sign. He has been out twisting and turning and doing some light ball work. It is all positive.

“Hopefully, James will be back training with us inside two weeks and then it will be another two weeks before he will be considered for selection again. That is the sort of timescale I am putting on it but we will be as cautious as we need to be, because we don’t want any set-backs. “
