Looking To Build Some Momentum

23 November 2017

Crewe Alexandra boss believes that his side’s gritty 1-0 win at Morecambe sets us up nicely for the visit of the current league leaders on Saturday. Nathan Jones’ Hatters top the table on goal difference from Notts County and remain many peoples favourites for promotion.

The Railwaymen will have to be at their defence best to contain the free-scoring Hatters this weekend. A 3-0 victory over Carlisle United on Tuesday night now means that Luton have scored 46 league goals already.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Artell said: “It was a big win for us and it is roll on Saturday. We will be underdogs again against Luton but we are back at home. We have done it before when Notts County were flying and they came to us and we beat them. If we can repeat that performance then we have every chance of causing a surprise.

“If we do our jobs properly, work hard and have those fine margins go our away again then anything is possible in this game.

“If we can follow up what we did at Morecambe with another win then that would set us for a busy December. If we can get those three points then we would be saying we are unbeaten in two, then we have Cheltenham and Crawley, Swindon and Chesterfield and hopefully it would give us a platform to build some momentum.

He added: “We will go into the game on Saturday with plenty of belief. The spirit in the squad is good and if we can show the other side of the game again, like we did against Morecambe, we know we can give Luton a tough game.”
