Artell Looks Forward To Blackburn Test

28 November 2017

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell will approach this weekend’s FA Cup tie at Blackburn Rovers with the same intensity he did for Luton Town last weekend.

Artell has always taken the FA Cup seriously and will be going all out to cause another upset at Ewood Park on Sunday. Crewe defeated Rotherham in the first-round and he wants his team to focus on taking out another League One scalp if possible.

The Crewe boss told us: “We will approach the game with the same intensity we always do. We will do our homework on Blackburn. We have had them watched and I am going to Blackpool this evening to watch them. Tony (Mowbray) may make some changes come the weekend but I’m sure they want to get through as much as us.

“If we don’t go out in the right frame of mind against an opponent like that, it can become a very long afternoon. We will approach it like we did for Luton or we vwill for Cheltenham the following week.

“We will leave no stone unturned. We are playing higher league opposition again, and that is the challenge. We beat Rotherham in the last round and gave Oldham a decent game in the Checkatrade Trophy, so we know that if we are at it then we can cause a cup upset.”
