Artell Impressed By Cooper's Football Style

17 November 2017

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is looking forward to what he describes will be a ‘proper game of football’ at the New Lawn tomorrow. Artell is an admirer of Mark Cooper’s footballing philosophy and he believes that it will be a good spectacle as both sides seek points to move away from the danger zone.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Forest Green, Artell said: “Mark is a good manager and he likes his teams to play the right way. I would be surprised if they don’t play football tomorrow because they have footballers and not hammer throwers.

“They will be like any other League Two side though and they will also have a bit about them physically. We have to match that and we can do it, because we have done it against the likes of Stevenage, Notts County and Mansfield on the opening day of the season.

“It is about us embracing the challenge and it will be a welcome change to face a footballing team. Mark will be like us, he will be going into the game thinking they can win and that will make for a good game.”
