Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell has revealed to the club’s official web-site that he has met with a couple of transfer targets already and he is scheduled to meet one or two more as he prepares to strengthen his squad.

Artell is hoping that one or two of his own players will re-sign for the club this summer and he has set today as his deadline, so he can move forward.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “I’ve met one or two and I’m still to meet one or two. Some have been involved in the play-offs, so that was a bit different and it is only right that they concentrated on that.

“We will see where we get to with them. It will depend on a whole lot of circumstances. If the players really want to come to this club then they will want to sign as soon as they can. If they see us as an option then they will wait. It is as simple as that.

“It will depend on whether it is a buyer or sellers’ market.”
