Bowery Delighted To Get Off The Mark

16 March 2017

Jordan Bowery pleased to score but more delighted with the three away points at Crawley.

Everyone was delighted to see our on-loan striker Jordan Bowery score his first goal of the club in our impressive 3-0 win over Crawley Town on Tuesday evening. Bowery scored a decisive second goal in our win at the Checkatrade Stadium after a swift counter-attack saw George Cooper slot him through on goal. Bowery’s first touch saw him get the ball under his spell before he slotted it calmly past the Crawley goalkeeper Glenn Morris. Moments later, his strike partner Chris Dagnall added a third and the points were heading back to South Cheshire.

Bowery has been unfortunate not to have opened his account earlier with opposition goalkeepers making superb saves and the officials rather harshly chalking off two goals.

After opening his account, a delighted Jordan told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “It was a relief to get that first goal for the club because it has been a long time coming but I was just happy to see it go in.

“It is not as though I have not had chances. I have been getting them but he keeper has saved them or they have been blocked or whatever. I have been with happy with my performances but as a striker you want to be amongst the goals and helping the team.

“Hopefully now I have got the first one, I can kick on and get a few more. We’ll see what happens but I am really enjoying my football again. I am having a run of games and I’ve not had that for a while, so that is the main thing.

Jordan added: “From day one, everyone has made me feel welcome and I just want to keep on doing my bit and helping team and I feel I can do that by working my socks off and chipping in with a few assists and goals.”
