Artell hopeful that his club captain will be available to face Blackpool this weekend.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that he will give his club captain Danny Hollands as long as possible to prove his fitness ahead of this weekend’s encounter at Blackpool.

Hollands limped out of our mid-week game against Wycombe Wanderers after suffering a hamstring injury in our 2-1 win. Ryan Wintle stepped into the fray and performed admirably.

Ahead of our trip to Blackpool, Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Dan has been for his scan and we will see how he is. He seems alright but I will have a conversation with our physio Rob and Dan before any decision is made.

“I will try and give him as long as possible but if he doesn’t make it then I have no qualms about putting someone else in. Our bench is strong enough and that was typified by Ryan Wintle on Tuesday night. He came on and was fabulous for us. I have other options if Danny isn't quite there.”
