Artell: "We Go To Hartlepool Aiming To Win"

28 February 2017

Crewe boss targets three points against fellow strugglers this evening.

David Artell says he and his Crewe Alexandra will be treating our encounter against fellow strugglers Hartlepool United like any other League Two fixture. Artell says that preparation has gone well and that his team will be looking to win the game and aim to put seven points between ourselves and Dave Jones’ side. A win for the home side would see them just a point behind the Railwaymen but Artell says that he wants his players to remain composed and to make sure they express themselves as much as possible at Victoria Park.

Ahead our trip north, Artell told us: “It is a big game, but they are all big games. They have home advantage and we haven’t won away for a while, so it would be the perfect time to do so.

“We won’t be approaching it any differently than any other game. We don’t care too much if it’s a team in the top three or down the bottom, we go into games looking to win them.

“If we can apply ourselves and eradicate the mistakes that have cost us goals against Blackpool and Stevenage then there is no reason why we cannot win the game. It could be those little fine margins again that decide games, but I have confidence in this group of players. We know what we are capable of doing if we apply ourselves correctly.

“We had a set-back on Saturday and I was disappointed with the way we conceded the two goals but this game has come around quickly and the players will be ready to go again.”
