Artell: "I Still Can't See Anyone Running Away With Promotion"

22 December 2017

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell believes that League Two remains wide open and he cannot see any team running away with promotion this time around.

The Alex boss says he has been impressed with a number of teams in the first half of the season but admits that there is much of a muchness between most of the sides.

David told us: “We have faced a number of good teams in the first half of the season but I don’t think any of them will run away it. People say Luton and if they spend money on players and salaries in January then they might.

“But we could have got something from the game when we played them. Exeter were very good. Coventry were good when we went there. I thought Mansfield were decent on the opening day of the season as well.

“The January window may well change things and some may put some distance between themselves and the chasing pack but we will have to wait and see on that.

“There are a few decent sides but I don’t think we have seen anyone to fear. If we play like we can over Christmas and going into the second half of the season then we will be fine. “
