David Artell has called on the Crewe away support to create an atmosphere at Vale Park this weekend to spur us to victory.

The Alex boss is targeting a derby day victory to extend our unbeaten run to the season and he wants the passionate Alex fans to re-create the conditions that inspired us to great results away at Blackpool, Portsmouth and Carlisle United.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Vale Park, Artell told the club’s official web-site: “In football, the away fans also tend to make more noise. It isn’t just Crewe. Look at the Mansfield fans. I’m not sure they are like that at Field Mill every week.

“Our away fans have been terrific and the passion they have shown since I came into the job has been terrific. They have helped us. They never stopped singing at Blackpool, Portsmouth and Carlisle and we ended up coming back at Blackpool from 2-0 down and won the other two.

“I want them to be like that again on Saturday and get behind the lads again. They are always noisy at Vale Park and we really appreciate the support they always give us.”
