David Artell has praised the Crewe Alexandra faithful for their fantastic support on Saturday and the boss is hoping for more of the same when the Railwaymen take on Championship side Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
The Alexandra Stadium had almost 5,000 fans in attendance and Artell was delighted with the atmosphere generated against the pre-season favourites.
David told crewealex.net: “The fans were terrific on Saturday. I’m sure we entertained them but they played their part to. They got behind the lads and sang their hearts out for them. They were brilliant and we need them again tomorrow night against Bolton.
“We have to play our part and play well. We know that those songs will die down if we are serving up dross.
“I’ve said all along that we are in this together and that showed on Saturday. The fans know they have a part to play and I can only thank them for the support they gave us against Mansfield.”
