Popular defender Bakayogo leads by example
Steve Davis is hoping to have the experienced Zoumana Bakayogo available for selection tomorrow because not only does he produce a high level of performance, but his influential personality rubs off on others inside the dressing room.
Bakayogo is winning the race to face Doncaster tomorrow after picking up a slight knock in the club’s 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night.
The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Zoumana has great experience and he is good to have around the place. He always gives 100% every day and that rubs off on the others. He is an influential figure because he leads by example.
“We are hoping he is okay to play. He has had treatment since Tuesday and has responded well to that.
“He is always whole-hearted in his performances and he brings that effort and commitment to the group. No-one works harder than him to make sure he does as well as he can for the team on a matchday. He brings that work ethic to the group and when he is not there, it is a loss because he also has that zest to get forward and put crosses into the box.”
