Guthrie: "We Have To Do Our Homework"

16 September 2016

Jon reveals he has watched clips of Grimsby's in-form striker Omar Bogle.

Jon Guthrie admits that he has had to do 'extra homework' on Grimsby’s in-form striker Omar Bogle, who has hit seven goals in all competitions already this season. Guthrie admits he is still adjusting to facing League Two strikers and says that it will be another stern test against one of the country’s most in-form striker this weekend.

Ahead of our trip to Blundell Park, Jon told the club’s official web-site: “We were in League One for a few years so you do get to know the players you are facing, so it’s all see new to us.

“You perhaps come up against forwards you haven’t faced before and it is different type of challenge. We do our homework on the opposition and look at the clips of who we are going to be playing against.

“It is no different for Grimsby. We always prepare right and make sure we know what they want to do. They had a terrific result at Luton last week and I don’t think many people fancied them to go there and win, so we know it is going to be tough to go there.

“They have adjusted well since coming up and its two in-form teams if you like, so we are looking forward to a good game. “
