Club Remain Hopeful Bakayogo Will Be Fit

2 September 2016

Bakayogo to join in with morning session ahead of Doncaster encounter.

Crewe Alexandra remain hopeful that left-back Zoumana Bakayogo will be fit enough to face Doncaster Rovers tomorrow. Bakayogo was forced off late on against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening and manager Steve Davis avoided taking any risk with his experienced defender by replacing him with Jon Guthrie.

The former Leicester City man has had extensive treatment this week and is set to join in with the morning session.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We had a little problem with Zoumana on Tuesday evening but he has had treatment since and we are hopeful he will be fit.

“He is prepared to give it a go in the morning session and we’ll see how he goes. If he doesn’t suffer any sort of reaction then he will play. If he does then we will have to have a switch about at the back. One would come in and Jon would shift across."
