A goal on his return for on-loan youngster after he missed the last five through injury.
On-loan winger Alex Kiwomya came through his first competitive action at Notts County with no problems. The Chelsea youngster, who came off the bench to hit our equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane came through unscathed after missing the club’s last five games after sustaining a dislocated shoulder away at Grimsby.
Kiwomya’s introduction for full debutant Tom Lowey had the desired effect, with the winger tucking home a pass from George Cooper to instantly cancel out Notts County’s opener.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis said: “Alex gave us a different option and I felt we needed that because we were struggling to get behind them and his pace made a difference. We were not causing enough problems, so I made the decision to get the fresh legs on fairly quickly.
“We went a goal down but we responded superbly well and it was another good finish from Alex. He gives us another goal threat. He had the impact I wanted and the good news he came through unscathed.
“He felt fine and didn’t suffer any problems with his shoulder. It is always a concern for any player when they come back from injury.”
