Changes Reflect Luton's Strength In Depth

7 October 2016

Steve Davis says Luton may have made 11 changes in mid-week but still defeated West Brom.

Steve Davis says that that the decision of Nathan Jones to change his entire starting XI for Luton Town’s Checkatrade Trophy tie against West Bromwich Albion only goes to so the strength in depth the Hatters have in their squad.

Luton won the game 2-0 and Jones has publicly stated that he will be willing to pay the subsequent fine himself.

Ahead of our meeting at Kenilworth Road this weekend, Steve said: “Luton have made a good start to the season and have a big squad. Their manager made the changes in the week and decided to leave a number out.

“That goes to show how much strength in depth they have and I would imagine he may have a bit of a selection headache for the weekend. It will be a tough game and we have to go there and make it as difficult as we can.

“They like to play out from the back and want to play through the lines. It will up to us to exploit the gaps and take our chances when they come.”
