In the perfect world, boss says he would like to add target man to his options

Steve Davis has admitted that he would like to add the option of a bigger striker to his attacking options. The Alex boss is delighted with the impact his experienced strikers Ryan Lowe and Chris Dagnall have made to the squad since signing in the summer, but Davis says that in an ideal world he would like to have a target man in his ranks to give us a different dimension in certain games.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official web-site: “We are lacking a big one up there if needs be. There isn’t one in the Academy, so we would have to bring one in from the outside and that isn’t easy. Every manager is after that type to improve their squads.

“We would like that different type of striker to change things but would he play every week with the strikers we already have? It is not easy but if we could I would like to add that type to our squad.

"It would be useful to have one in the squad but that is part of the future. I am not particularly talking about the right now or even January when the window opens, but it is something we have in mind going forward.”
