Boss open to tactical change ahead of the new season.
Steve Davis says he may try out a different system to get the best out of his two forwards Ryan Lowe and Chris Dagnall. Both have impressed in pre-season with Dagnall scoring three goals in the warm up games, but Davis says he is open to his players having to adapt to a new system to get the better of the opposition when the serious stuff starts on 6th August.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have stuck to one system so far to make sure that everyone knew what their jobs were. They have known exactly what they have do in the system and we have been working hard on being out of possession just as much as in it.
“They know what is required from them when we play 4-4-2 but that doesn’t mean we won’t change it and play with a different shape.
“They have been no grey areas with the system and the likes of Cooper and Kirk have worked hard defensively. There shouldn’t be anything they are unsure about. We have played with two wingers in pre-season and two in midfield but we may look at different systems that we will use throughout the season.”
