Boss targets positive start to end dip in league form.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he has seen signs of improvement in his squad. Despite the 2-0 defeat to the Championship outfit, the Alex boss was pleased with aspects of our play against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I think there were some good signs against a good Wolves side. We had our moments and I thought certain aspects of our play was good. At this stage of the pre-season it is about getting them fit but they tried to bring things we have done in training into the game.

“We have to get out our dip in form. We need to start winning football matches again and get the players thinking positively about winning. We need to turn it around when the serious stuff starts at Stevenage.

“If we can do that then the aim will be get into a good position in the league and then push on. We’ll have to see where we are when it all starts again for real.”
