With three fixtures this week, defender is hoping to make his comeback from slight injury.

Crewe Alexandra defender Ben Nugent is hoping to get some more minutes under his belt this week after missing the last four friendly matches with a slight knee injury. The former Cardiff City man is back is training now though and he will hoping to add to the 45 minutes he played at Buxton earlier in the pre-season.

Crewe have three fixtures to fulfil in six days, starting with Altrincham tomorrow evening. Nugent, who is competing with the likes of Harry Davis, George Ray and Jon Guthrie for a starting place appreciates he has to catch-up on his match fitness after picking up the untimely injury.

Ray is now fit after suffering with a slight hip problem and he achieved minutes under his belt against Bolton XI on Friday evening.
