James Collins pleased with George Cooper's contribution in pre-season.
First team coach James Collins believes that George Cooper has returned to pre-season as a rejuvenated player. Cooper scored his second goal of pre-season in last night’s 1-1 draw with Altrincham with a deft header from James Jones’ cross and his consistent performances have certainly been a bonus ahead of the new season.
James told the club’s official web-site: “George has come back into pre-season looking like a really good player again. By his own accord, he didn’t have the best of season’s last time around but his form in pre-season has been a real bonus for us.
“Scoring headed goals in something new but saying that we have been working on those type of crosses and those little glancing headers. He is giving it a real go and working hard and hopefully it will continue and it will be onwards and upwards for George.”
