Boss Says Reaction Has Been Good

13 January 2016

Steve Davis says the players have responded well following heavy home defeat by Coventry City.

.Steve Davis says that the extended break has given him and his coaching staff to work intensively with the players out on the training. Crewe Alexandra didn’t have a fixture last weekend due to Bury’s involvement in the FA Cup and although the Alex players were determined to wipe the Coventry City defeat out of their system, Steve believes the time has been well spent out on the training ground

Ahead of our trip to Swindon this weekend, Steve said: “The break did give some of our players a chance to recover from various knocks and we have prepared well for the Swindon game.

“We have worked on different ways of playing and different systems and it has been good to be out there and working with the players again. It was all really positive and the reaction since the Coventry game has been good.

“We will go down on the Friday and if we can transfer what we have been doing in training into the game then we have a good chance of getting a result. We felt we were unlucky to lose the game against them late on at our place. We felt we felt well that day and didn’t get what we deserved for our efforts.

He added: “We are never really comfortable sitting back and soaking up pressure, so we will look to go on the front foot and take the game to them.”
