Davis: "We Could Play Differently"

15 February 2016

Steve Davis says his team will adapt if George Cooper is deemed not fit enough to travel.

Steve Davis says he may look to play a bit differently against Rochdale tomorrow evening if youngster George Cooper is deemed not fit enough to travel to Spotland.

Cooper has been struggling with a thigh strain over the last couple of weeks and was replaced in Saturday’s draw with Walsall by Zoumana Bakayogo. The former Leicester City man could be set to deputise against Rochdale.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “George is a doubt with a thigh injury. He felt it a couple of weeks ago but he has managed it and wanted to play. He felt it again on Saturday and we didn’t take a chance with it.

“He came in for treatment on Sunday, so he has to be a doubt. If he doesn’t make it then we could go differently. We will look at that today and see if we can adapt and play a bit differently if George isn’t fit. If he was fit then he would play.”
