U23: QPR 3-3 Crewe

22 August 2016

Youthful Alex side hold Rangers in London

Alex Morris' Under 23 side battled to a well-earned 3-3 draw at Queens Park Rangers to register a first point of the U23 PDL2 season in the second game.

Dan Udoh, Owen Dale and Lewis Reilly got on the score-sheet for Crewe with Reilly's 85th equaliser sealing a share of the points.

Udoh put Crewe ahead on 38 minutes to gain the half-time advantage, getting in one-on-one and slotting past the keeper.

The R's levelled on 54 minutes after Crewe lost the ball in the centre of the park & striker Dan Darbyshire got in to fire past Dave Richards.

The hosts went ahead just seven minutes later from the penalty spot before a brilliant 74th minute team move put in Owen Dale in the box who curled into the corner.

A second Rangers penalty with ten minutes to go looked as though it might win it for the hosts, but Callum Bullocks' powerful run & cross found youngster Reilly at the back-post late on to secure a well-deserved share of the spoils.

Crewe: Richards, Bullock, Wilkinson (Reilly), Trialist, Trialist, Wintle, Pickering, Finney, Lowery, Dale, Udoh
