Steve: "A Big Season For A Lot Of Our Players"

5 August 2016

Steve Davis says out of contract players will have something to prove.

Steve Davis says the club’s captain Harry Davis is aiming to put two seasons of injury frustration behind him with a positive season. Davis has completed the pre-season unscathed and he will be looking to improve on the 11 appearances he made last season due to a knee injury.

The previous season, the 24-year-old defender made 33 appearances and he will be hoping to see the back of his injury problems going into the 2016/17 campaign.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is a big season for Harry, like it is for a number of them. They are not kids anymore and most of them have played a large number of games now.

“H had a season to forget last season. He made 11 appearances and couldn’t help the team and I know that frustrated him. He has the experience of winning a promotion here and playing in a JPT Final. He knows what it takes and that is important.

“He will looking to play as many games as he can and show what he is about. He is in the last year of his contract, like a lot of them are and that is healthy for us, because they have to have a good year to get a new contract or attractive interest from elsewhere.”
