Kiwoyma: "Hopefully More To Come"

9 August 2016

Alex Kiwoyma feels at home at the Alex as he starts with assist and a goal

Saturday’s match winner Alex Kiwoyma says it is a pleasure to play alongside the experienced Ryan Lowe and Chris Dagnall. The on-loan Chelsea winger came off the substitutes’ bench to change the game at Stevenage on the opening day of the season, creating the opener for Lowe with a splendid through ball and then scoring a fantastic solo goal himself.

Now the former England Youth International is hoping to get another chance against Sheffield United this evening in the EFL Cup.

Kiwoyma told crewealex.net: “When the manager spoke to me prior to going on, he just told me that this was my chance and I had to try and take it. I didn’t come here expecting to walk into the team and play.

“I had 30 minutes on Saturday and just wanted to do the best I could. I was just pleased to provide for the team and that we won the game. That is what we came to do. To get a goal and assist was a great start for me personally but I hope there is more to come.

“When I get my chance I just have to take it and I know I will get chances here at Crewe.

“I’ve spoken to Lowey and know how he likes to play. He is a clever and I think we linked up well. He has great experience and so does Chris (Dagnall) so I know they will help improve my game. It is a young team and they are important to us.”
