U21’s Fight Back For Point At Griffin Park
Alex Morris’ Under 21 side battled back from 3-1 down to secure a 3-3 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park.
Jan Holldack side-footed The Bees into the lead inside 15 minutes after a pull-back from the by-line before George Cooper capitalised to smash in an equaliser for the Alex ten minutes later.
The hosts regained their advantage on the stroke of half-time through Bradley Clayton after a mazy run and pass across goal from Josh Bohui.
Brentford looked to have sealed victory midway through the second period when Holldack slammed home his second of the afternoon, but it instead only spurred on Crewe.
Toby Mullarkey began the fight-back to make it 3-2 with a well-timed looping header from Oli Finney’s free-kick on 75 minutes before Finney himself scored a masterful effort, controlling on the thigh before rifling into the top corner from the edge of the box to seal the draw with ten minutes remaining on the clock.
Crewe: Richards, Morgan, Mullarkey, Neal, Pickering, Lowery, Howell (Finney), Ainley (Dale), Cooper, O’Neill, Saunders (Brown)
