Steve Davis grateful for opportunity to turn things around next season.

Steve Davis understands that his team have to hit the ground running next season or the club may look to go in a different direction. The Alex boss was placed on the spot at last night’s fans forum at the Stadium following our relegation to League Two, but he was also backed by the board of directors to be given that opportunity to turn things around.

The Crewe Alexandra knows that he has to get back to winning ways and make us competitive in the league two. The challenge will be involved in a push for an instant return to League One.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “I have had a meeting with John (Bowler) and members of the board and I know what is expected of me next season.

“The players will know what is expected next season and we need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. We have to respond and we will all be working hard to make sure that happens.

“I know that not many managers would still be in the job after the season we have had and I am grateful for the opportunity. I know I will judged next season and we need to start well.

“We need to get some wins under our belts as soon as we can and start to build some momentum.”
