Ray: "We Can Beat Anyone In This Division"

George oozing confidence after defensive shut-out at Burton

Returning Crewe Alex defender George Ray was thrilled to be back involved at Burton Albion, helping the side to a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw at The Pirelli Stadium.

Fracturing a cheekbone against Wigan in the JPT, Ray had missed two games but returned against Burton donning a protective mask and shone as The Alex kept just a third clean sheet of the season.

Ray told Crewe Alex Player HD: "First game back after two weeks is always nice to get a clean sheet. If you keep a clean sheet then you don't lose the game so that's always a positive.

"We gave Gillingham a tough game and we took a point off Burton who are both at the top. We believe we can beat anyone in this division and that's what the Gaffer is telling us and we believe that.

"My cheek is fractured but it feels alright and I feel like I play like normal when I've got the mask on so there's no hesitancy to get stuck in and involved.

"We've been picking up some good results away from home, we just need to switch that to home now so the fans can see what we're doing! Fair play to the away fans though, they've been great and were great again at Burton."
