Davis Aims To Be More Dangerous

23 October 2015

Crewe boss wants his team to provide better service into the forward players.

Steve Davis is looking for his Crewe Alexandra side to become more dangerous in the final third of the pitch and create more chances for his forward players.

The Alex goals have been shared around the team this season with young midfielder Adam King leading the goalscoring charts with four goals.

Ahead of this weekend’s encounter at Blackpool, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We did fine at Burton and on another day could have nicked it but we were not dangerous as I would have liked.

“We had a few chances but didn’t work their goalkeeper on too many occasions. We have shared the goals around the team and Adam is our leading goalscorer from midfield. Brad has scored, Lauri has scored, Ryan has scored, Marcus has scored, Foxy has got a goal and so has Ben Nugent, so there are goals in the team.

“I do think we have the forward players to score goals. We need them to hit some real form but we also have to help them by creating better opportunities for them. The service could be better for them.

“We could do with being more creative in the final third and provide better quality in the penalty area. “
