Leigh Talks Went Well

19 May 2015

Boss encouraged by first talks with Greg Leigh's representatives.

Steve Davis has revealed that initial first talks with full-back Greg Leigh have been positive and he hopes to make a suitable offer for the 20-year-old full-back to join us on a permanent basis from Manchester City.

Leigh made 42 42 appearances for the side during a season-long loan last term and won the Goal of the Season Award for his wonderful strike against Scunthorpe.

Davis was delighted with the defender’s contribution and willingness to learn and improve and will make him the best possible offer he can to try and entice the promising youngster back to the Alexandra Stadium.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I don't know where Greg is at the moment, whether he is on holiday, but in the end I spoke to his representatives for a second time and now they are waiting for us to come back with something.

"We are in the process of coming up with figures and going back to them.

"He gave that feeling at the end of the season that he really enjoyed his time, I have spoken to the guys at Manchester City and they told me he enjoyed it too.

Steve added: “He got through a difficult period with us and he improved and learned a lot, there is more to come and I think he knows that too."
