Congratualtions to our Youth Team captain

Crewe Alexandra’s Youth Team captain Joe Kearns is the first of our Academy graduates to sign a professional contract with the Football Club. Kearns is one of five second year scholars to have been offered professional terms and the 18-year-old has today signed for a year with another year option.

The Liverpool-based Kearns helped Crewe reach the quarter-final stage of the FA Youth Cup this season before they eventually lost away to Manchester City at their ‘mini Etihad Stadium’. Kearns has also been a regular for James Collins’ U-21 Development Squad this season, operating both as a right back and his more natural centre-half position.
