George Ray has signed a new two-year deal with the club taking through to the summer of 2017

Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce that George Ray has agreed a new and improved two-year deal with the club. Ray’s new deal will take him through to the summer of 2017.

The 21-year-old from Warrington has established himself as a regular in Steve Davis’s first-team since marking his debut as a late substitute in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley in 2013.

Ray has gone on to play 46 first team games since then, scoring twice against Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers during this campaign.

Ray’s form at centre-half saw him capped by Wales at Under-21 level and we won five caps at that level.

He also played at Leek Town on loan during his teenage years as part of his development.
