We Quickly Moved On From Dons Defeat

Boss refused to let anyone dwell on MK Dons defeat

Steve Davis says that last weekend’s 5-0 defeat to MK Dons has not greatly affected his Crewe Alexandra squad as they prepare to leave for Essex.

The Crewe Alexandra boss says that his young squad have proved in the past that they can cope with heavy defeats at this level and look forward to the next fixture to put things right against fellow strugglers Colchester United.

The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “Over the last three years at this level we have been on the receiving end of a few heavy defeats every now and again. That can happen and it has happened twice against the MK Dons this season.

“When that happens, the most important thing is how we respond and we have been okay. We have been able to move on quickly and not dwell on that defeat too much.

“What we have done is remain positive all week and not let it affect us too much. The spirit has been good and the training has been good.

“We have had some decent results and performances over the last couple of months, so that is what we are looking to get back to as soon as possible. We have an important month ahead of us and we are all determined to get as many points as we can.”
