Steve: “Both Teams Have Hit Form”

Boss expecting a tough match at Doncaster

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is expecting a high quality game when his side travel to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Doncaster Rovers tomorrow night, with both sides in dominant form.

Rovers come in off the back of consecutive 5-0 and 3-0 victories over Crawley and Yeovil respectively, whilst The Alex have won four of the last five games, including the previous two on the road.

Doncaster currently sit just four points, but nine  places above the Alex in what is shaping up as an incredibly tight Sky Bet League One table.

Steve said: “They’ve hit a good run of form at the moment, scoring goals and not letting many in, so he’s found a system that’s tightened them up a little bit and they’ve got some threats as well with the pace they’ve got in the team. Paul [Dickov] has got them working hard and is pushing for a top six place.

“This is a good time to hit form and we’re in good form as well. We’ve hit a purple patch along with themselves, so hopefully it’ll be a decent game.

“We did well last time we went there with Lauri scoring on his debut. We’d love a repeat of that, but we know we’re catching Doncaster in a better reign of form which will make it tougher.

“We’ve won our last two away games though and we’ve been good away, playing with some confidence and a stadium like theirs gives you a lift. We’ll look forward to it.”
