Ryan set to end 15-month injury nightmare for U21's this afternoon

Crewe Alexandra attacker Ryan Colclough is set to put his 15-month injury nightmare behind him this afternoon as he takes to the field for the U21's against Coventry City at Reaseheath.

The 20-year-old last played in the Alex first team in November 2013 in the derby defeat to Port Vale at Gresty Road and had since struggled with on ongoing double hernia problem.

But Coco returned to training at the back end of January and now looks to step up his fitness with a run-out for James Collins' side.

Fellow long-term absentee Fraser Murdoch could also be just weeks away from a return, having yet to take part in a full training session with the first team having penned his first pro deal in the summer because of a cruciate ligament injury.
