Davis back training whilst Murdoch suffers slight hamstring set-back
Club captain Harry Davis has returned to full training with the first-team squad. The centre-half has missed the first four games of the season following a slight knee injury but he has now successfully resumed training over the last two days.
This weekend’s home game against Bury will maybe come a bit too soon for the 23-year-old, as will Monday’s Development squad encounter against Barnsley.
Manager Steve Davis would prefer the defender to obtain some game time for the Under-21s before he is considered for a first-team recall but if he trains consistently well next week, he could yet be involved for next weekend’s trip to Wigan Athletic.
Fraser Murdoch has suffered a slight set-back in his own rehab. The striker has a slight tear in his hamstring which will put him back a couple of weeks. Murdoch is returning from a cruicate knee injury.
Perry Ng’s knee has improved greatly, and he is hoping to resume training in the next seven days, while Crewe’s only long-term absentee remains James Jones (shoulder).
