Alex boss Steve Davis says he is not concerned about handing debuts tomorrow.

Steve Davis says that he will not hesitate to name any of his new summer signings in the starting line-up for the visit of our near neighbours Port Vale this weekend.

The Alex boss has been busy in the summer recruiting three new midfielders, a new defender Ben Nugent and another goalkeeper Dave Richards to provide cover and competition to Ben Garrett.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Our recruitment has been good this summer and I believe that we have improved the team from the one that started the season at Fleetwood last season.

“We could have a few debutants in the team but I would not hesitate to play any of them. They are all professional footballers and will thrive on the occasion. It is always one of the best moments in their careers, making their debuts for a new club.

He added: “I am sure they will be looking forward to it and although the Port Vale game has an extra edge to it, they can all handle it. I am not concerned about that.”
