Boss Still In Hunt For Left-Back

11 August 2015

Steve Davis says he will give left-back as long as he can to come here on loan.

Steve Davis says he will still give time for his number one left-back target to join the club. The Crewe Alexandra boss has his hands tied at the moment as discussions continue between the player and his parent club, but if we were to be given the green light to take him on loan then Davis is still, very much, in the hunt.

Davis is looking for a new left-back to provide more of an attacking threat down that side of the pitch and has stressed that he will give time for the situation to be resolved before he explores other potential options.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The left-back situation is reliant on the club involved. It is out of our hands and all we can do is wait until he is available.

“We think he is involved in their squad for the Capital One this week so if he gets on the pitch then he will be cup-tied but we are looking at it longer term.

“He wants to come out and play games. He wants the challenge to test himself and play at this level. He is keen to come here, so hopefully something can be resolved. We want to give the boy a chance and we will give him some time.

“Saying that I cannot wait forever because I want another left-back to give us that balance and we have one or two other options in mind, but we will give the lads the best possible chance to get him here.”
