Uche Has Got Himself Going

Boss pleased with Ikpeazu's response this week

Steve Davis is keeping his final starting XI at Coventry City very close to his chest. He will give midfielder Jamie Ness until the final moment to prove his fitness and has already gone on record to admit that he has considered using Brad Inman due to his previous form at the Ricoh Arena in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The Alex boss also has a fully fit Ryan Colclough and youngster George Cooper in the equation for one of the forward roles, if he elects to change his personnel and he has admitted that Uche Ikpeazu has enjoyed a progressive week as well.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Uche has had a good week and he has been very positive. I spoke to him this week and he enjoys moments like that because we forget how young he is at times.

“It is always good to pull Uche to one side and talk things over with him. It makes him feel good and I think we have been able to get him going a bit this week. He appreciates that we genuinely want to help him and care about him.

“Uche responds to that attention like most of young players need.”
